Currently three workshops are being offered at the Ontario Science Centre in conjunction with Celestica:
The purpose of the Stage 1 - Introductory Workshop is to introduce the user to mobile robotics through the Sumobot. Attendees are given the opportunity to build a robot followed by experiment with them.
The presentation used (in Adobe pdf format) can be downloaded by clicking Here. Included in this presentation is an optimized robot assembly process.
Along with the presentation, a user handout is available for downloading by clicking Here. These two pages provide the user with operating information along with hints for fixing problems and where to look for more information.
Designed for 13-14 year olds, the Programming Workshop has been designed as an introduction to programming along with information as to how to program the Sumobot. This workshop was recently prototyped at the Ontario Science Centre and pdf files of the presentation used and an enhanced handout can be downloaded below.
The presentation used (in Adobe pdf format) can be downloaded by clicking Here.
The user handout given in the workshop has been updated to the one found Here. While the handout contains samples of all the applications, the .zipped source code can be found Here.
NEW! Here is a sample Dance Program written for Myke's daughter's SumoBot at the OSC's "Robot Riot" in May 2005.
Once building the robot and skills in basic programming of the Sumobot have been developed, the Interfacing Workshop gives an insight how to add electronics to the Sumobot as well as provide a new application for the robot - at the end of the workshop, the Sumobot is modified to play a version of "Laser Tag" (called "IR Tag") against other robots and in other situations.

The user handout given in the workshop has been updated to the one found Here.
The BS2 code can be downloaded by clicking Here and the PIC16F505 code (used as the hardware controller for the IR Tag hardware) can be downloaded by clicking Here.
NEW! If you don't have anybody to play "IR Tag" with, click here to download a simple autonomous program to play against.
